Design Edge, Canada's leading graphic design news and trends magazine, hand selected QGolf Club over entries submitted across Canada to be featured as a successful re-brand in this months 'relogo' edition.
Before (top logo): This private course, located beside the Fraser River and catering to families and professionals, had a challenge with its name. Quilchena was often mispronounced, misspelled and unknown.
After (bottom logo): Its name was changed to QGolf Club. To make the logo acceptable to the 40% Mandarin membership, a feng shui artist was consulted. An opening at the top of the large Q in an earlier iteration was closed so that wealth cannot escape the circle.
The Q was done in a "paint-brush" style; the swoosh of the Q's tail, pointing upwards to symbolize movement forwards, is meant to evoke a golf swing, water flowing, or a bird in flight. The font is Trajan Pro. The tail of the Q was altered to match the large Q symbol. The colours are considered to be feng shui and in balance. The blue, evoking the Fraser River, creates a feeling of peace and trust. The green represents the grass and surrounding nature.

Photographing from a helicopter will give you the most dramatic photos and give the viewer an idea of where you are situated. It also gives the WOW factor. Make sure to use a shutter speed of at least 1000 to prevent camera shake from the moving chopper.
