Vancouver's Anna Kim is one of eight Canadians teeing off today in the opening round of Match play for the 110th U.S. Women's Amateur Championship at the Charlotte Country Club in North Carolina.
Kim (75-75) tied for 55th with recently crowned Canadian Junior girl's winner Rebecca Lee-Bentham (72-78) of Richmond Hill, Ont. at 6-over par 150, 22 strokes behind a trio who shared medalist honours.
Erynne Lee, 17, of Silverdale, Wash., Rachel Rohanna, 19, of Waynesburg, Pa., and Jaclyn Sweeney, 21, of Andover, Mass., each shot a 36-hole total of 6-under-par 138 to share medalist honors Tuesday at the par-72, 6,559-yard Charlotte Country Club. Rohanna opened with a first-round 7-under-par 65, the lowest 18-hole stroke-play round in the championship's 110-year history.
Right off the top Anna Kim, seeded 56th, will be up against Quebec's Sara-Maude Juneau, the 9th seed in today"s round of 64.
