Michaels, a 22-year old recent graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), has been on fire all week in Kingsville and finished up the day with a chip for birdie on 18, and a comfortable four shot lead going into Friday's final round.

The talented player is getting firsthand knowledge of the course from her caddie Bob Henderson, who has been a member of Kingsville Golf & Country Club for 40 years. Henderson is the father of Laura Henderson Matthews who won the Royale Cup Canadian Women's Amateur Championship in 2005 and finished in second place on four other occasions.

"She [Michaels] is a really strong putter and is amazing at reading them," said Henderson. "I'm really only giving her minimal advice, she's quite an exceptional golfer."

Michaels made four twelve foot putts today for par in addition to scoring four birdies. She has a three-day total of 204 (-9).

"That was long waited for [referring to the birdie on 18]," said Michaels. "Danielle [Kang of Thousand Oaks, CA] played really solid today, but it's golf, so anything can happen. Tomorrow I plan on just staying focused on what I'm doing and no one else."

Kang sits in second place after an equally impressive 2-under par 70. Rounding out the top three is Team Canada's Sara-Maude Juneau of Fossambault, Que.

Marie-Therese Torti of Candiac, Que shot a 4-over par 76 to land her the first place standing in the Mid-Amateur division. In second place is Evelyne Lussier of Montreal, Que with a three-day total of 228 (+12), and holding third place is Christina Proteau of Port Alberni, B.C.

Torti holds the lead in the Mid-Masters division with her three-day total of 227 (+11); Cheryll Damphouse of Amherstburg, Ont., sits in second 232 (+16); and Terrill Samuel of Etobicoke, Ont., in third with 235 (+19).
