VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
The 2010 U.S. Senior Open has closed its volunteer program and has enlisted the help of over 2,800 volunteers that will serve on 34 different committees. We are pleased to welcome volunteers from 31 states and 4 countries. Over 95% of the volunteers will come from the state of Washington. Among the volunteers Sahalee Country Club will be generously represented by over 300 members, many of whom have taken on leadership roles as chairpersons of the 34 committees.

General Chairman, Chris Falco, is quoted as saying, "It is astounding how the community has stepped up to support the 2010 U.S. Senior Open. The state of Washington will be represented by all of these volunteers and this is a great way to show the USGA how supportive the golf community is here. We can't thank the volunteers enough."

All of the 2,800 volunteers opted into this program by purchasing a Volunteer Package priced at $125. One local volunteers said, "It's a very nominal fee for everything that you get in the volunteer package." Each volunteer package includes an official U.S. Senior Open shirt, jacket, hat, and water bottle, plus a weeklong ticket to the championship. Also, on days that the volunteers work they have access to a 4300 sq.ft. hospitality tent and fully catereed meals from restaurants like Outback Steakhouse, Matt's Rottiserie, P.F. Chang's, Costco, and Fred Meyer. Volunteers are asked to work four, four hour shifts over the course of the championship and volunteer roles touch all parts of the championship including scoring, corporate hospitality, and player transportation.

Prior to championship week, there is a volunteer party where all 2800 volunteers, along with 2 guests each, are invited to come to Sahalee for a night a free food, free drinks and live music. Volunteers are also provided the opportunity to purchase merchandise at 20% the regular price and the opportunity to tour the golf course prior to the championship.

Additional volunteer information can be found online at U.S. SENIOR OPEN
