Following the first round Wong, a 19-year-old sophomore, is one shot off the lead after posting a 3-under par 69 and is tied for 3rd in the individual race while his Ducks share 3rd place in team competition.

The 21-yar-old Taylor, meanwhile, bogeyed his final two holes for a 1-over 73 and is tied for 52nd and his huskies are alone in 9th place, seven shots back of the front running Oklahoma Sooners

Taylor and Wong are no strangers to each other. They were named 2010 Pac-10 co-Golfer of the Year and Pac-10 first team selections.

Taylor is ranked #2 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking and Wong is #20.
