Playing in the hope of securing a coveted spot on the Canadian Junior Golf Association Team Canada roster for the 2010 Junior World Golf championships, Chris Crisologo of Richmond, Brayden Eriksen of Parksville and Jennifer Yang, Coquitlam topped their divisions in the second leg of the North American Cup qualifier Sunday at Hazelmere Country Club in Surrey, BC.
Due to inclement weather and a lack of daylight for the boys 14 and under and 15-19 divisions both competitions were reduced to nine holes on Sunday and declared official as 27-hole events. The girls 11-19 division managed to complete their final round.
In the boys 14 and under division Crisologo shot a par 72 and shared Saturday's first round lead with Alex Francois of Burnaby, then registered an even par 36 Sunday before play was halted, to compile a 27-hole total of 108, two shots better than 11-year-old Henry Lee of Coquitlam. Two weeks earlier Lee scored a 2-shot victory in the first leg of qualifying at Surrey's Northview G&CC Canal Course with a 36-hole score of 11-over par 155.
In the boys 15-19 division Eriksen of shot 72-37 for a one over 109 total, one shot better than Andy Yang of Coquitlam.
The only player to post a sub par total over the weekend at Hazelmere was Jennifer Yang of Coquitlam who opened with a one under 71 and finished with 72 for a one under par total of 143, two shots in front of Anica Yoo of Port Coquitlam.
Players making the CJGA Junior World Golf championship squad will be announced at a latter date. The Junior World Golf Championships at Torrey Pines Golf Club in San Diego, CA will take place in July.
