Defending champion Dustin Johnson ran a string of five consecutive birdies and posted a record tying 30 on the back-nine at Pebble Beach and currently leads the field at 8-under par 64. Two up on J.B. Holmes and K.J. Choi.

Playing at the par-70 Monterey Peninsula, Vernon, B.C.'s Chris Baryla over came two bogeys with four birdies and is T42nd at 2-under 68.

Also playing at the Pebble Beach Links, Weyburn, Saskatchewan's Graham Delaet bogeyed two of the first three holes he played but by his 15th got his game back to even par before encountering a triple bogey-7 that left him at 3-over 75 for the day and tied for 136th
