Stephen Ames was 5-over par after his first 11 holes in Thursday's opening round of the PGA TOUR event at Torrey Pines in San Diego but five birdies and no bogeys over his last 25 holes allowed the Calgary veteran to make the cut on the bubble for this weekend's Farmers Insurance Open.

Weir, Delaet: Keeping Pace At The Hope Classic

After playing 43 holes without a bogey at the Bob Hope Classic in La Quinta, CA., Canadian Hall of Fame member Mike Weir made his first slip of the tournament --and the season, since this is his first TOUR event of the year-- at the par five seventh hole, but still managed to compile his third consecutive round of 5-under par 67, six strokes out of first place.
