KyleGermanCPGAassist231pix.jpgCanadian Kyle German, the Director of Golf at Point Roberts G&CC across the boarder in Washington State, achieved the pinnacle of his career a year ago when he captured the 2008 Titleist & FootJoy Canadian PGA Club Professional Championship at Port St. Lucie, Florida. The title earned German a berth into his first PGA TOUR event, the Canadian Open, another career highlight.

Next week, German --back to defend his first Canadian PGA National title-- and eight other PGA of BC members will be part of a field of 104 club professionals from across the nation competing for a $12,000 first-place cheque and a chance win an entry into the 2010 RBC Canadian Open at St. George's GC in Toronto.

PGAofBClogo128pix.jpgThe B.C. zone team competing in the inter-zone competition is made up of Ross Mantell of Qualicum Beach GC, Jeff Buder of Point Grey G&CC, Scott Dickson of Shaughnessy G&CC, and Daryl Stubbs of Cove Links GC, who were the top-placing club professionals in the PGA of BC Championship held in August at Crown Isle Golf Resort.

The inter-zone competition features the top three scores from each team for the first two rounds of the CPC. The winning team members each earn $500, second-place team members earn $400 and third- place team members earn $350.

Other B.C. zone members competing next week are Rob Anderson of Shadow Mountain GC, Dave Bolton of Savage Creek GC, Jesse Crowe of Mabel Lake G&CC, and Greg Pidlaski of Kelowna G&CC.
