(November 19/09)
With play already underway in today's final round of the senior Champions Tour Qualifying School Victoria, BC's Jim Rutledge will have to shoot one of his career low rounds if he hopes to pull off the comeback of the season and earn his tour card for 2010.
Starting off in 27th place and needing to climb up to 5th place in order to secure his playing privileges for this lucrative senior tour, the 50-year-old Rutledge has been improving his position each round this week and today seems to be no different.
Rutledge has recorded six birdies and one bogey through 17 holes and improved his position to 11th place with one holes remaining. Perhaps the best he might exxpect at the end of the day will be a non-exempt card to get into the field of Monday qualifiers.
Meanwhile, Ray Stewart of Abbottsford is well off the pace that has been set by front runner Steve Haskins who is 17-under par and began this final round with a four shot lead.
