Registration is still open for British Columbia Golf Association club members in the interior and mid-Vancouver Island regions wishing to enroll in the two RCGA Handicap System Seminars slated for Kelowna Golf & Country Club October 24 and at Glacier Greens Golf Club, Comox November 1.
Each Seminar provides an opportunity for handicap committee members and golfers in general the opportunity to better understand the role of the Royal Canadian Golf Association, the BCGA, the Handicap Committee and the Player.
Attendees will learn how handicap factors are determined, how tournament scores work into the equation, how to compete equitably from different sets of tees, when to post scores, which scores are acceptable for posting in addition to learning the various responsibilities of those who make the handicap system work - the player, the handicap committee, the BCGA and the RCGA.
The seminar takes approximately 2 hours, with a break for lunch. Time is allotted for questions during and after the session, with the exam open for those wishing to test their knowledge and gain certification. Seminar leaders will be available for going over the exam at the conclusion. Total time including seminar, lunch and exam is expected to take no more than 4 hours!
October 19 is the entry deadline for the Kelowna seminar scheduled for October 24.
October 26 is the entry deadline for the Comox seminar scheduled for November 1.
