Second Round - - PNGA Junior Boys' Amateur

With a second consecutive round of 3-under par 69, Zach Wanderscheid of Goldendale, Washington took home Medalist honors Tuesday at the 55th PNGA Junior Boys’ Amateur Championship at the University of Idaho Golf Course in Moscow, Idaho.

Wanderscheid’s 36-hole total of 6-under par 138 was four shots better than second place finisher James Feutz of University Place, Wash. as a field of 32 now advance to the championship flight.
 
Wanderscheid adds another accomplishment to his already impressive summer that has included winning Medalist honors at the U.S. Open Local Qualifier, a 2nd place finish at the WJGA State Amateur Championship, advancing to the Round of 32 at the PNGA Men’s Amateur Championship, and an appearance at the U.S. Junior Boys’ Amateur Championship.

Among those to advance were Josh Zhang (T8, 73-72—145) and Sean Gill (T17, 75-74--149), both from Vancouver, B.C

The cut fell at 9-over par 153 with eight players playing off for the final seven spots.

To be eligible for the Pacific Northwest Junior Boys’ Amateur Championship, contestants must not have reached their 18th birthday by the final day of the competition and also carry a handicap index of 24.4 or less. 

All matches are single-elimination and contested over 18 holes, except for the championship flight final match which will be played over 36-holes.
