Kwon & Kim Win BC Juvenile Titles

The fact that Kwon birdied the final hole while of Surrey took a bogey was also a factor in Kwon finishing at 14-under 199 while Svensson came in two shots back.

"I had a lot of luck this week and I was putting the best I ever have", says Kwon. "I thought my approach shot on the final hole was going in the water and then I saw it bounce on the green and then I drained the putt."

Kwon and Svensson were tied after the first two rounds of play and both held the lead numerous times during the final round, until their climactic finish at 18.

A pair of Coquitlam boys, Tony Ko (209) and Andy Yang (210) finished third and fourth respectively.

In the Juvenile Girls' Championship, Taylor Kim of Surrey, went wire-to-wire to claim her crown with a final score of one-over par 214. Kim set a torrid pace by breaking the women's course record Tuesday with a 68.

"My short game was really great this week. I missed a lot of greens and struggled on all the par 3's but was good up and down," says Kim. "I was nervous this morning when we started out, but then Bomin (Shin) bogeyed holes on the back nine and I pulled away and relaxed. This is a big win for me."

Megan Osland of Kelowna, came in second at five-over 218 followed by Shin in third at 6-over 219.
