BC Wins Canadian Women's Senior Team Title

BC's team of Little, Alison Murdoch of Victoria, Phyllis Laschuk of Vancouver and Elaine Blatchford of Surrey combined for a team-total (223-226--449) 17-over par, 15 shots better than runner-up Alberta and 24 up on third place Quebec.

With her second consecutive round of 2-under par 70, Little has moved into a seven shot lead in individual competition over Kathy Powers of Hammonds Plains, NS (73-74--147).

Palahniuk and Vancouver's Holy Horwood share third place after posting identical seven-over par 75-76--151 totals. Murdoch and Calgary's Diane Williams are tied for fifth place at eight-over 152.

In the super senior competition, Williams now leads the competition at 8-over, six strokes up on Gloria Sinclair of Georgetown, Ont.

The Royale Cup Canadian Women's Senior Championship is open to women who have reached their 50th birthday by the first scheduled day of the championship, August 25, 2009. The Super Senior competition is open to female amateurs who have reached their 60th birthday by, August 25, 2009.
