Christina Spence Proteau, the BC Amateur and Mid-Amateur champion from of Port Alberni, B.C., sits in first place in the Canadian mid-amateur division with 75 (+3), followed closely by Winnipeg’s Tanis Hastmann and Moncton, N.B., native and provincial team member Leanne Richardson, both at 5-over par 77.
Richardson also leads the mid-master division with 77 (+7); followed by Calgary’s Kim Carrington, who finished today’s round with 81 (+9).
In inter-provincial team competition, defending champions Team Ontario finished the day with a one-stroke lead over Québec. Ontario scored a team total of 218 (+2) with Quebec shooting 219 (+3). British Columbia is in third place at 222 (+6).
NOTES: Team Canada’s Maude-Aimee LeBlanc of Sherbrooke, Que., was the heavy hitter in the Royale Long Drive competition, recording a 262 yard drive on her second shot.
