After bogeying his final two holes in regulation and ending up in a tie for first place Comox Assistsant Professional Kevin Maxwell from the Glacier Greens Golf Club may also have lost some confidence but that quickly returned on the first extra hole when he birdied from 20 feet to win the 36-hole PGA of British Columbia Assistant's championship at Swan-e-set Bay Resort & Country Club in Pitt Meadows June 30.
Tied at the end of regulation play with Northview G&CC teaching pro Matt Palsenburg at 1-uner par 143,, Maxwell took advantage of an errant Palsenburrg drive and a penalty on that extra hole to claim his provincial title and a first prize of $2,500. Palsenburg won $2,000.
Alone in third was first-round leader Edd Boudreau of Arbutus Ridge Golf & Country Club, who earned $1,600.
The day’s low round was fired by Sergej Dronov of University Golf Club. His 69 left him at two-over-par for the tourney and got him a cheque for $1,300.
Defending champion Bryn Parry (Seymour Creek Golf Centre), finished tied for 5th at three-over-par 147,
