James Hahn of the U.S. so enjoyed winning his first Canadian Tour event in Edmonton last week he has scored a bogey-free round of five-under par 67 and taken the first round lead in this week's Saskatchewan Open.
With a single birdie on his front nine, Hahn seemed undeterred by the wind and rain and scored four consecutive birdies on the back side that helped to produce his one stroke lead.
Tied for second at 68 are over Liam Kendregan and Ryan Thornberry while sharing fourth place after posting 3-under 69s are Jose de Jesus Rodriguez, Richard Scott, Mitchell Gillis, Scott Gibson, Jon McLean, Aaron Goldberg, Brady Stockton and David Williamson.
Another 11 players are at two under par 70.
“It was brutal out there with the wind and rain,” said Thornberry. “The wind was hitting about 20 mile per hour for the whole day and wreaked havoc.
