He Came. He Saw. He Conquered.
That about sums up what Portland, Oregon's Chris Maletis accomplished Thursday when he registered a two-shot victory to win the 45th Annual Pacific Northwest Senior Men’s Amateur Championship at the OGA Golf Course in Woodburn, Ore.
Maletis arrived at the top of the leaderboard with a four-stroke cushion on opening day and saw what his competition had to offer.
At the end of day two his lead was still in tact, although Larry Daniels of Seattle and John Gallacher of Burnaby, BC were now three shots back, nipping at his heels.
However, in the end Gallacher folded while Daniels' ---tied for the lead at one stage---fell back down the stretch and Maletis was left standing with a three day total of 7-under par 209, and a two-shot margin of victory for his second Pacific Northwest Senior Men’s Amateur Championship in the past three years.
Galacher managed to hang on with a one-over par 73 and finished six strokes back at one-under 215 in third place.
