Tobiano, British Columbia

For golf fans around the world, The Masters is all about the green jacket, Magnolia Lane, the azaleas, the roars in the pines, and the back nine on Sunday. For those patrons luck enough to get a badge, it's also about the famous Pimento Cheese sandwiches served at the Augusta National Golf Club.

Tobiano (named Best New Course in Canada in 2008 by both Golf Digest and SCOREGolf Magazines) opened April 10 for the 2009 season, the same day as the second round of this year's Masters. In honour of the new season and Masters Weekend, Tobiano is offering all of its patrons a complimentary Pimento Cheese sandwich delivered to them during their rounds Friday through Sunday. The Augusta National recipe is a closely guarded secret, but Executive Chef George Moutsos has created a Tobiano Pimento Cheese sandwich (on white bread, with crusts removed of course) that will no doubt be as popular on the shores of Kamloops Lake as the original is among the Georgia Pines.

"As we're opening Masters Weekend, we thought it would be a fun way to welcome the new season and honour the most popular tournament in the world of golf," said Miles Mortensen, Tobiano General Manager and Director of Golf. " Our 'patrons' can enjoy their round, enjoy their sandwich and then join us in the clubhouse to watch the Masters on our two giant flat screen TVs. It's a great way to celebrate Masters Weekend."

As an added bonus, all players on the weekend (and up to May 14th) will have their names entered into a draw to win a complete Masters Makeover.
