ROUND 2 - - Mexican PGA Championship

It's a little foggy at the moment just who has the second round lead at the Canadian Tour's Corona Mexican PGA championship although London, ON's Andrew Parr is in the clubhouse and ahead by one shot after playing 36 holes at El Cid Country Club in Mazatlan..

Parr shot a six under par 66 Friday and at eight under par 136 is in front of fellow Canadians Adam Speirs and Scott Hawley.

However, a 75 minute fog delay Friday morning has pushed the actual conclusion of the second round back to Saturday morning after which the cut will be made.

Players will be back in position at 7:30 a.m., ready to play.

Sharing fourth spot at 138 is Mexican Javier Quevedo who fired a 67 and 2008 Tour Championship winner Tom Stankowski who matched his opening round 69.

Another stroke back at 139 is rookie Robert Gates (70), J.J. Rodriguez (69), Eugene Smith (71), defending champion John Ellis (71), Manuel Inman (66) and the Canadian pair of Brian Benedictson (70) and Ryan Yip who fired a 67.

Parr began his day with birdies at the second and fourth before a three-putt bogey set him back one. He then made a nice up and down from just off the green to birdie the par-five seventh and followed it with a ten-footer and No. 8.

"My putter was pretty hot today," said Parr, who made it three in a row with a 20-footer at No. 9.

Still not finished, he hit his approach at No. 10 to three feet and rapped another birdie home.

His only other hiccup was at the par-five twelfth. "The fairway is really narrow and if you hit it left you are going out of bounds," explained Parr, "and that is exactly what I did.

Parr called it a good bogey and rebounded at the par-three 13th with another birdie from tap-in range.

One final birdie at No. 15 and three solid pars at the difficult final holes ended his day.

"I'm feeling good," Parr continued. "I made a lot of birdies today and I've played well this week. I have to stay in the moment, stay aggressive and just take care of business out there. I can't control what everyone else is doing.

"I go into every tournament with the goal of winning and as long as I continue to give myself the opportunities, I have a good chance to win here."
