Burnaby Golf Fees join Lower Mainland Increases

The cost to play golf on public courses in the Lower Mainland became slightly more costly this spring and now the latest region to boost prices is the Parks and Recreation Commission for Burnaby where Riverway and Burnaby Mountain courses will increase weekday green fees by $2 and $3 on weekends and statuary holidays beginning May 1.

That means Burnaby Mountain will charge $37 (GST included) for 18 holes during the week and Riverway will cost $47 on Friday, Saturdays and Sundays.,

According to reporter , writing in the Burnaby Now, the new prices are less than other Lower Mainland links, including Carnoustie, Langara and Fort Langley.

Only the $35 weekday rate at Newlands in Langley beats the Burnaby Mountain fee.

Senior and junior weekday rates at Burnaby's two courses will be adjusted to approximately 75 and 65 per cent, respectively, of the adult fees meaning a round of golf from Monday to Thursday at Burnaby Mountain will now cost seniors $26.25 and juniors $22.75.

Similar increases will be implemented at Riverway, where the cost is $47 a round for adults on weekdays. Weekday rates for soon be $33.75, while juniors can still play the Marine Way links for less than $30. Weekend rates will be $56 for 18 holes.

Pitch-and-putt rates will go up by 50 cents. Driving range fees will increase three-, 10- and 50-bucket sales. Single- and half-bucket sales will remain the same as last season.

Some special rates may also be offered.

As well, an online tee time booking system will be introduced by mid-season, which will open 25 per cent of tee times to website users during prime time and 100 per cent during non-prime time.
