Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour Set To Begin 11th Season

The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour begins it's 11th season this month with a schedule of 46 tournaments in six Canadian provinces, including 12 events in British Columbia.

The MJT season begins in BC at Richmond's Mayfair Lakes course March 28-29 and concludes with the MJT National Tour Championship at The Wigwam Golf Resort and Spa in Litchfield Park, Arizona, November 21 - 22, 2009

Together with the Tour's major sponsor, Boston Pizza, the MJT program is open to boys and girls aged 9 through 19 with the objective of improving golf skills through competition. Participation and performance are rewarded with tee gifts, prizes, trophies and refreshments from a list of sponsors that include Boston Pizza, Cleveland Golf, Mr. Lube, Sundog Eyewear, Gatorade and more. Tournaments also feature exemptions to international competitions in Scotland, Australia, China and the USA.

Past players from the MJT include Canada's number one-ranked amateur, Nick Taylor from Abbotsford, number one-ranked junior, Eugene Wong of Vancouver, and Canadian Junior Girls Champion, Soo Bin Kim from Port Coquitlam.
