Black Mountain Golf Club Is Kelowna's Newest

The number of championship styled 18-hole golf courses located in the fertile Kelowna and Okanagan region will go up by one this summer when the new Black Mountain Golf Club permits golfers to begin teeing off on June 6.

Black Mountain Golf Club, part of the Melcor-Lakeside real estate development, was ready for play in the fall of 2008, but the clubhouse is just now nearing completion, with a 1,500 square-foot patio that overlooks the property.

Located off Highway 33 on Kirschner Road, the course was designed by the architectural team of Cooke Carleton International and is a uniquely designed par 71 consisting of six Par 3s; seven Par 4s and five Par 5s.

Eric Thorsteinson is the general manager, Barry Skabar the superintendent and the golf shop manager is Brice MacDermott, formerly of Vintage Hills and The Harvest Golf Shop.

Black Mountain Golf Club is now accepting advanced bookings for tee times from the public for Saturday, June 6.

For bookings and more information call 250-717-8390 or visit Black Mountain Golf Club

Meantime, the Fairview Mountain Golf Club, just 15 minutes away from Osoyoos, is planning to open this weekend.
