With his second consecutive second place finish on the South African Sunshine Tour, 27-year-old Graham DeLaet of Saskatchewan has amassed more than $96,000 in just four tournaments in 2009, making this his finest season in barely three years as a tour player.
Playing in the Telkom PGA Championship in Johannesburg, Delaet's final round was a flawless eight birdie, 8-under par 64, which left him one shot shy of the winner Jaco Van Zyl of South Africa.
With DeLaet and Trevor Fisher Jnr both in the clubhouse at 17-under, Zyl put his second shot into a bed of roses on the par-five closing 18th hole of the Woodmead course of Country Club Johannesburg but chipped out to within 15 feet of the pin.
"I practice those 15-footers all the time," said Van Zyl. after draining his pressure putt for the victory. "Ernie Els said he practiced them to win majors; I practiced them to win the Telkom PGA."
DeLaet recorded a pair of ties for 12th place during his first two events on the Sunshine Tour last month. Last week in the Vodacom Championship he tied for second with South African Charl Schwartzel, four shots behind current Order of Merit Money Leader Anders Hansen of Denmark. Hansen has won 2,747,999 SAR. Delaedt, in sixth place on the money list, has won 782,073 SAR
Deaet and the Sunshine Tour will now take a break until March 26 and the Zambia Open.

I have followed Graham Delaet the last two seasons
at the Canadian Tour Championship at Barrie National. I believe he is the player to watch in the near future. Do you know what his 2009 schedule is so that I can follow his progress?
Thanks, Rob
