PGA of BC Headquarters Returns To Richmond

The Professional Golfers' Association of British Columbia will move into new and larger office facilities effective January 15, leaving their compact premises off the 17th tee box of Morgan Creek Golf Course in South Surrey after 14 years.

The new PGA of BC office for Executive Director Brian Butters and his staff will be located in Richmond at Suite 3280, 21331 Gordon Way, which is part of the Shelter Island Business Park, just south of the Richmond Freeway (East-West Connector) and just off Westminster Highway.

In a statement on the PGA of BC's website, the reasons is, " our time at Morgan Creek has run out."

"The arrangement with the owners of Morgan Creek was a mutually beneficial one, with the golf course and housing development looking for the presence of a credible and authoritative tenant, and the PGA of BC looking for an attractive, golf course-related location at less-than-market lease rates.

"In recent years, the lease rate at the Morgan Creek location has moved up to market rates and the rationale for being as far away as South Surrey in an office that we had outgrown was no longer as valid as it once was.

"The new office location entails more than 2,600 square feet of space, which enables us to do away with the storage locker required to house our tournament and event supplies.

"The southeast Richmond location is much closer to the airport and to downtown Vancouver for members and people doing business with the Association needing to visit our office."

The office move marks a return to the city of Richmond. Prior to being located in Surrey he Association's office was located on Horseshoe Way in south-central Richmond.
