Kira Meixner -- World Amateur Blog (3) From Australia

The biennial World Amateur Team Championships for women and men, now underway in Adelaide, Australia, are two of the most prestigious international events amateur players can participate in. BC Golf News is fortunate to have British Columbia Amateur Champion Kira Meixner, a member of Canada's National Women's Team, providing her daily insight.

Here is Kira Meixner's third Blog from Australia

08WATChmspLogo.gifToday was the second round of the World Amateur and our team is tied for 6th place at five-over par. Sweden has played incredibly and is in the lead at 15-under par, eight strokes ahead of Spain who made a great charge today.

Yesterday I shot 74 on the West course. Our team had a pretty decent start, and today we hung in there thanks to a couple of solid rounds from Steph and Maude on the East course. I shot 78, and I'm disappointed that I couldn't capitalize on a very scoreable golf course.

Tomorrow, the top half of the field will play on the East course and then the West course on the final day. I'm looking forward to having a chance to play the same course again, and hopefully doing a lot better. I think our team can have a very respectable finish if we play well in the next couple days - so that is what we plan to do!

The atmosphere around the golf course is getting more exciting each day. The weather has been improving and a lot of very good golf is being played. I'm so happy to be among these incredible international players and to have the chance to play in this prestigious event.
