Each RCGA Foundation grant will be matched by the institution for a minimum investment of $50,000 directed toward scholarships, coaching, and costs associated with maintaining a competitive schedule for each school's respective golf program.
The recipients include the University of Victoria; the University of British Columbia; the University of Manitoba; Humber College; the University of Toronto; the University of Waterloo; Université de Montréal and Université Laval.
"The RCGA is delighted to continue its commitment to developing competitive post-secondary golf programs through the Canadian University College Support Program," said Duane Kenick of the RCGA Foundation. "The grant and scholarship programs are designed to keep our best and brightest in Canada and we are extremely proud to support young Canadians in their pursuit of academic and golfing excellence."
The RCGA Foundation Grants were introduced in 2004 as a means to assist Canadian universities and colleges in further developing competitive golf opportunities for student athletes in Canada.
The RCGA Foundation created the Canadian University/College Support Program with an initial donation of $1 million from the RCGA.
