One of the most influential voices in all of golf, Stephen Mona, Chief Executive Officer of the World Golf Foundation, paid a rare visit to Victoria this week to help kick off the 42nd staging of the Pacific Coast Amateur championship and to introduce golf executives, managers, superintendents, professionals and players to the global mandate of the World Golf Foundation.

Stephen Mona, from St. Augustine, Florida, outlined a plethora of initiatives that the World Golf Foundation has identified as immediate priorities and cautiously warns that despite the fact that golf is the leading economic driving force in all of sport in North America there is much to be done to ensure the future success of the game in society's rapidly changing environment.
Prior to his keynote dinner address to players and officials from the Pacific Northwest Golf Association and the host British Columbia Golf Association at Royal Colwood Golf Club Monday, Mr. Mona was introduced to a variety of golf industry officials by BCGA Executive Director Kris Jonasson during a luncheon attended by BC Golf News.
